The Initiating Parish: Handing On What We Have Received

Handing On What We Have Received

On October 14, 2017, Liturgy Training Publications will join us in Gaylord for a Ministry Enrichment Gathering. Together we will explore and reflect on how everyone in the parish community is responsible for welcoming those in the catechumenate. All those involved in the parish initiation ministry, priests and other interested parishioners are most welcome and encouraged to come.

Opening Address: Chosen, Royal, and Holy: The Dignity and Power of Baptism

Presentation: The Parish Community and the Baptismal Catechumenate

Prayer and Discussion: The Signs and Symbols of Christian Initiation

Please click on the registration form below and register before September 30th!

Certification of new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Certification of new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will continue to be held through the Secretariat for Worship and Liturgical Formation.

New extraordinary ministers may be trained in the parish specific how-to's at the parish level and begin serving as long as they receive the diocesan training before the end of the current liturgical year.

The parish must submit the names of the new ministers so they can receive a temporary certificate allowing them to serve until they receive training through the diocese.

The parish may contact the Worship Office to arrange a training date for new EMHC's. When this is done, it would be helpful for the hosting parish to contact nearby parishes informing them of the date and time of training so they too could have their new ministers trained at the same time.

If you have questions, please contact the Office for Worship and Liturgical Formation.
