Special Collection to benefit the

This annual collection was established in 2012 by the Fourth Bishop of Gaylord, Bernard Hebda. It is held in parishes throughout our diocese on the weekend closest to August 4, the Feast of St. John Vianney, Patron Saint of Parish Priests.  This special collection was established to help bridge the gap between the funds required to support the education and formation of our seminarians and funding received through the Catholic Services Appeal, grants and scholarships and interest received from an endowment fund with Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation.

Parishes throughout our diocese will take up a special collection the weekend of August 3/4, 2019.  Special envelopes will be provided.  Please know that you are welcome to make a gift to this collection at anytime throughout the year.

In addition, a mailing from the Diocese of Gaylord will go out the last week of July that will include a special mailer highlighting each of our seminarians and a note from our new Vocations Director, Fr. Benjamin Rexroat.  A donation envelope will be included.  Checks should be made payable to the Diocese of Gaylord and envelopes can be returned to your parish or mailed directly to the diocese.  The article will also be included in the July/August issue of FAITH Magazine.  A link to view a copy of the mailing is provided below.

All donations received are used solely for tuition, books, room and board, and health insurance for diocesan seminarians. Currently we have eight men discerning their future service as a priest for our diocese, with hopes for additional young men this fall.

Gifts to support the Seminarian Education Fund should be mailed to:
