Diocese of Gaylord Teacher Online Professional Development Day
All educators in the diocese of Gaylord were given the opportunity to attend a virtual Professional Development Day on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

DETERMINING CRITICAL LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Nicole Hatch, Principal of All Saints School in Alpena, will be offering ideas to teachers in regards to how to determine the critical learning objectives to focus on for the remainder of the school year. She will also be talking about ways to present content to students based on these objectives and how to evaluate their learning.
ONLINE RESOURCES AND EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUNG LEARNERS
Andrea Thorpe, Elementary Teacher at Immaculate Conception in Traverse City. Andrea will be sharing online resources she uses with her students and families to not only teach content, but to stay connected as a learning community. She will also be talking about practical issues related to expectations for younger learners in a distance learning model.
Session 3: Using Zoom Safely and Securely
Vanessa Tucker, John LaCross and Catherine Babbitt, teachers at St Francis High School in Traverse City, will be providing their expertise to online learning from a secondary perspective. They will focus on using Zoom as a platform for reaching out to students and how to use it safely and securely.
FAITH FORMATION AND TEACHING RELIGION ONLINE
Rev. Tyler Bischoff, Parochial Vicar at Holy Family Parish in East Tawas, will provide us with his insightful perspective on continuing faith formation during this time we are separated from one another. He will offer ideas and philosophy in regards to how to best reach our students at this time and include families in the formation efforts
