End Dismemberment Abortion
Bishop Raica has encouraged all of the parishes in the Diocese of Gaylord to participate in the End Dismemberment Abortion petition drive. The dismemberment procedure, referred to by the medical community as Dilation and Evacuation (D&E), is a brutal form of abortion frequently used during the second trimester of pregnancy (13-24 weeks of gestation). The procedure requires an abortionist to dismember a pre-born baby while still alive, tearing the child apart limb by limb inside the womb and individually removing each of the body parts.
Each parish is asked to have a representative(s) to oversee the petition drive efforts. Since it is issue-based and specific to legislation, churches are able to speak publicly about this and pass out material. The petition seeks to pass a ban on the barbaric practice of dismemberment abortion or dilation and evacuation abortion. To propose this bill, 340,000 valid signatures of registered voters must be gathered within 180 days.
Each parish/representative is responsible for requesting their own petitions and free materials. Materials can be found here: https://michiganvalueslife.org/. For more information, you may contact Marie Hahnenberg, Diocese of Gaylord's Respect Life Coordinator at email@example.com.
