Fr. Kendziorski has passed into Eternal Life

Rev. Fr. James T. Kendziorski, 90, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

James Theodore Kendziorski was born in Alpena on April 21, 1927 to Joseph and Pelagia (Wozniak) Kendziorski.  He attended school at St. Mary’s and St. Bernard’s in Alpena prior to enrolling in St. Joseph Seminary in Grand Rapids and St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario.  He was ordained a priest on June 1, 1957 at St. Peter Cathedral Basilica in London by Bishop Cote for the Diocese of Saskatchewan.  Fr. Kendziorski served the Diocese of Saskatchewan as pastor or associate pastor at St. Theresa in Rosetown, Immaculate Mary in Milden, St. Michael Parish and St. Paul Cathedral in Saskatoon.  He was also the director of the Friendship House in Bay City and chaplain at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.  Following his official retirement, he returned to Alpena, provided spiritual care at the Alpena hospital, Tendercare – Greenview and Tendercare - Alpena and served as sacramental minister for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Herron.

Surviving are his sister-in-law, Alice Kendziorski; several nieces and nephews.

Fr. Kendziorski was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters; Stephen Kendziorski, Joseph Kendziorski, Jr., Alexander (Peter) Kendziorski, Edward Kendziorski, Anthony Kendziorski, Frances Gillin and Sr. Balbina (Sophia) Kendziorski.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m. with the rosary recited at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by the Most Reverend Steven J. Raica.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: All Saints School or The Friendship Room.
