Parishes Hosting Local Festival of Families to Coincide with Papal Visit


These parishes have provided information regarding plans for a local Festival of Families  celebrations on Sunday, September 27, 2015, to coincide with the Festival of Families taking place in Philadelphia with Pope Francis. Everyone is welcome to these parishes for these special celebrations. You may also watch the live stream of the Papal Mass on the internet, watch the televised coverage on EWTN or listen to the radio broadcast on Baraga Radio or Sirius XM 129.  You may also download a copy of the worship aid for the closing Mass below so that you might participate more fully.  (CNS photo/Paul Haring)

St, Mary Cathedral, Gaylord

After the 11:00 a.m. Mass, everyone is invited to stay for food, fun and games for the whole family.

At 4:00 p.m., the Papal Mass for the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families will be live streamed so that families can watch the Mass together.  

Boyne Valley Catholic Community

Special prayer cards will be distributed at all the weekend liturgies with a special blessing for families. Coffee and donuts will be provided after Mass.

At 4:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Parish in Boyne City, the Closing Mass for the Festival of Families will be live streamed from Philadeplhia with social. The Mass will lead into the evening;'s faith formation program.  

Our Lady of the Lake, Prudenville

After each Mass selected families will speak and make testimony on what the Catholic Faith means to them as a family and how they show their faith on a daily basis. On Sunday, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass, there will be refreshments and games for everyone. 

At 3:00 p.m., there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
