Promoting Health & Wellness for Seniors
Don’t be caught off guard this flu season – get your flu shot at the annual Cheboygan Senior Expo on Thursday, October 8, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cheboygan. A joint venture between Catholic Human Services, the Diocese of Gaylord, McLaren Northern Michigan, and the Cheboygan Catholic Community, the Senior Expo provides necessary services and information to area seniors each year.
There is no cost to attend this event, and all area seniors, their caregivers and families are invited.
Many local, regional, and community groups have joined together to present information, answer questions, provide resources and discuss topics vital to the senior community. Free health screenings will also be available, including blood pressure, glucose, vision, cholesterol, body composition, and more. Those who plan to get a flu shot will need to bring their insurance and Medicare cards.
Lunch will be served by the Daughters of Isabella and free rides are being provided by the Straits Regional Ride. Those who wish to book a ride in advance should call 866.731.1204. Seniors who find that they need a ride on the day of the event are asked to call 231.818.5732.
The day will also include musical entertainment, snacks, and prize drawings. The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 9480 N. Straits Highway in Cheboygan and the Expo will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information, contact Tanya Janes at 231.487.4183 or via email at email@example.com.
