St. Andrew Task Force Retreat being offered for High School boys

High school boys (grades 9-12) from across the diocese are invited to the annual St. Andrew Task Force Retreat to be held at St. Mary Cathedral School in Gaylord January 11-13, 2012. In this “Year of Faith” the retreat is themed “Share your Faith with JOY!” and will encourage participants to grow deeper in their understanding of their Catholic faith, be joyful witnesses to that faith and consider how they might live as faithful Catholic men as they respond and live out whatever vocation God is calling them to.

The retreat will feature sports activities, discussions and talks on faith, Bible Study and time with current seminarians of the Diocese of Gaylord. Other highlights of the event will include attending the Ordination to the Priesthood of Chet Collins and attending the Vocations Awareness and Recognition Awards dinner. The entire weekend of weekend events will kick off the 2013 National Vocations Awareness Week.

Space for the retreat is limited to 40, so those interested in attending should register early. Registration forms may be obtained from local parishes and Catholic schools or downloaded from the diocesan website by clicking on this link. A cost of $25 is requested to partially cover meals and activities, with the remaining fees funded through gifts to the annual Catholic Services Appeal. Scholarships are also available. Deadline for registration is January 7, 2013.

The Saint Andrew Task Force was founded in 2006 in an effort to provide young men throughout the diocese opportunities to join with others for prayer, fellowship, and service and to explore who God is calling them to be and how they will respond to God’s call as they grow into Catholic men.
