Young Adults -- Join us for a "Pentecost Party in the Pinkie"

05/07/2012

Young Catholics from throughout Michigan will gather at Lake Ann Camp (just west of Traverse City) for a special weekend of faith-filled fun specifically geared for young adults ages 18-39. Hosted by the TC Frassati young adult group from Traverse City, the event is being highlighted as a Pentecost Party in the Pinkie and will take place May 25-27. Participants will have the opportunity to refresh their spirits through prayers, Adoration with Exposition and Benediction, Sacrament of Reconciliation and spiritual direction as well as through a variety of social activities such as the zipline, bonfires, paintball, a wine tour and soccer tournament. Gaylord Bishop Bernard A. Hebda will be the celebrant for the Saturday evening Eucharistic Liturgy for the Vigil of Pentecost.

The cost is $119 per person and includes all meals and activities for the weekend, as well as lodging at Lake Ann Camp. A family rate is also available.

Justin Leugers, coordinator of the event for the TC Frassati group, hopes a large number of young adults from the Diocese of Gaylord will participate in the Pentecost Party in the Pinkie. “It’s going to be a great weekend and a great way for Catholic young adults in our diocese to connect with one another as well.”

TC Frassati is named for the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and aims to bring together Catholics in the Traverse City area that are between the ages of 18 and 39. The group hosts activities such as Theology on Draft, which features a brief talk by a priest or other presenter followed by a question and answer period. The gatherings are held at local Traverse City breweries.

More information on the Pentecost Party in the Pinkie can be found on the TC Frassati website, tcfrassati.wordpress.com, and their Facebook event page, Facebook.com/PartyInThePinkie.
