Plan now to attend St. Andrew Task Force Retreat
The fourth annual St. Andrew Task Force Retreat is scheduled on January 8-10, 2010 at Holy Childhood Church, Harbor Springs. The weekend will bring together young men (grades 9-12) from around the diocese to encounter Jesus, find support in their faith commitment and to have fun! St. Andrew Task Force is a service organization dedicated to exploring who God is calling these young men to be and how they will respond to Gods call as they grow and mature. Led by Fr. Donald Geyman, Delegate for Vocations, the group gathers periodically during the year to join with others from throughout the diocese for prayer, fellowship, and service. The retreat will feature presentations and activities by our new Bishop Bernard A. Hebda, Director of Vocations Fr. Don Geyman, and seminarians Gerald Okoli, Deacon Sylvestre Obwaka, Peter and Michael Wigton, Matt Cowan, Bryan Medlin and Tyler Bischoff. There will be plenty of socializing and sports, food and fun. The highlight of event will be attending the Ordination to the Diaconate of Gerald Okoli which will take place on January 9 at the 5:00 PM Eucharistic Liturgy at Holy Childhood Church. Everyone is invited. Space is limited. Though the event is funded in part by the Catholic Services Appeal, a cost of $25 is requested to help cover meals and activities. The intent is that no one be excluded due to financial concerns. If you would like to attend but need financial assistance, please contact Fr. Don Geyman. Fr. Don can be reached in the Vocations Office at 989.705.3532 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information or to register, please see your parish office or click on the Vocations link to the left. A registration form may be downloaded there or obtained from Caryn Jacobs at the diocesan offices: 989.732.5147 or email@example.com.
