The Catholic Weekly
The Catholic Weekly serves as the "authorized publication for the Diocese of Gaylord" and serves the Church in many ways. It provides a guaranteed media outlet for leaders of the Church to present the full, true message of Christ, unspoiled by the biases or lack of knowledge by the secular media. It also provides a means for Catholics to see that other Catholics are active -- a form of self-affirmation that the Church is moving forward.Established in 1942, The Catholic Weekly offers National and International news of the Catholic Church and its leaders. The newspaper also highlights secular news which may pertain to the Church and how the Church is working to bring about the Kingdom of God in our every day lives.
On the diocesan level, staff of the Secretariat for Communications work closely with the editor of The Catholic Weekly to provide photos and information regarding the activities of the Bishop, parish and institutional news, as well as diocesan activities and events.
Announcements of upcoming local events may be found in "Across the Diocese" and "In Our Parishes."
