Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation
The Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation was established in 1998 by Bishop Patrick R. Cooney to benefit individual programs and ministries throughout the diocese. The Foundation is an endowment-based fiduciary body that supports the philanthropic needs of donors who seek to make cash gifts, bequests or planned gifts in support of Catholic ministries in Northern Michigan. Individuals, parishes, schools, diocesan agencies and ministries may all establish endowment accounts, known as Donor Named Funds, within NMCF to benefit the Catholic ministry or organization closest to their hearts. For more information on the Foundation, click on Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation below and read the current brochure. You can also contact Danielle Parish, Executive Director of the Foundation, at 989.732.5147, or by Email at nmcf@dioceseofgaylord.org.

Gift Designation Options
Through the creation of endowments for individual parishes, schools and other Catholic agencies, such as Catholic Human Services, the Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation provides a means to generate income to help sustain the long-term strength and viability of these Catholic institutions.
Each endowment is recorded separately and serves only its specific designated purpose. Income from these accounts is distributed semi-annually to the beneficiaries named when the fund is established. Once a fund is established, many donors may contribute to build the fund, or donors may choose to establish separate funds to memorialize or celebrate an event, person or ministry.

Charitable Gift Annuities
A chartibale gift annuity (CGA) is a way to make a gift to a charity, such as the NMCF, and still receive lifetime income payment for yourself or others. The CGA is a simple, contractual agreement between a donor and the NMCF whereby the donor transfers assets to the NMCF in exchange for receiving a fixed annual payment for life.
