CSA Gifts Acknowledged
March 28, 2008
In a recent letters to Bishop Patrick R. Cooney, several National Offices have expressed gratitude for donations made to support the wider Church. These offerings were made on behalf of the faithful of the Diocese of Gaylord through gifts to the annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA).
A letter acknowledging the gift of $10,536 made to the Catholic Communication Campaign from Mary Mencarini Campbell, Assistant Director for Promotions was recently received. This campaign’s essential mission is to contribute to the process of evangelization by fostering activities in relation to television, radio and other media, and through special projects of the Catholic press.
A second confirmation was received from the National Collections office for a check in the amount of $31,435 that was accepted by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. This campaign strives to address the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and transformative education.
Lastly, an acknowledgment was received for a donation made by the Diocese of Gaylord to the 2008 Collection for the Church in Latin America in the amount of $11,283. This collection supports various pastoral projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Projects are at the continental, regional, diocesan and local levels, and include the work of evangelization, formation of laity, religious and seminarians, as well as youth ministry and catechesis.
These letters represent very important reminders of the great work that is done throughout the world through the donations we make to the Catholic Services Appeal.
