Religious Formation classes are over for the summer, but we will resume in September. Please remember to help keep the children current in what they have learned, or check in the back of the church for some of our books etc.

CSA has been completed for the year. We were blessed and we went over our target which helps if any of those who pledged can not follow through due to unforseen circumstances.Our target was $9722.00. The volunteers, Nancy, Ruth, Joyce and Dara would like to thank you for your generosity

Our St. Raphael Faith Warriors (our youth groups name) will be once again supporting a team for the Relay for Life. We will be working to raise funds to fight all forms of cancer, so we will be having canisters to put in businesses, window clings, luminarias for a person or intention to be lit at the Alcona High School track where the relay will be held on July 23 & 24, 2010 and the names read off. We will also be having yard signs and track signs. If you would like to have more information please contact one of the members.
St. Vincent dePaul will be taking clothing off of the racks on Wednesday, June 30th. If you can help with this project please come into the store at 7:30 a.m. as it is easier to do while the store is closed. We appreciate all the extra help that we can get.
Alcona County Recycling will be held at the ARA site in Lincoln on the second Saturday on June 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is a slight charge to help with the trucking. A great way to recycle and help the county and yourself.
Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Robert Bissott on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Dates for future reference: The combined St. Anne- St. Raphael parishes picnic is scheduled to be held on August 15th at the Pavilion behind the civic center in Mikado.
We are in the planning stage for
a retreat mission, if you would like to imput anything please contact Leo Marciniak, Sharon Gajewski, Ruth Johnson or Nancy Schisler.
A statewide Catholic Men's Conference will be held on Saturday, June 26th at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center in Ypsilanti. Arrival and registration begin at 8:00 a.m. with the program starting at 9:00 a.m. It concludes with mass approoximately at 4:00 p.m. More information is available at www.ChristsChosen.com. Tickets are available by using the order form in the back of the church.
The East Central Region of the DCCW will be holding their quarterly meeting at St. Raphael's in Mikado on Tuesday, June 29th. Registration will begin the day at 9:00 a.m. and mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Lawrence Boks. Lunch will be held at 12:00 noon after which Walt Joslin will speak on the bible. If you would like to come please contact Nancy Schisler 736-6369 for reservations. The cost will be $7.00 per lady. Please remember that all the ladies of the parish are considered members. This is open to anyone that would like to join us for the day.
Cards. Please remember you are our eyes and hands so if you know of anyone that is sick or in need of a card, just to let them know that we are thinking of them, contact Denise Schulz 736-6498 or Joan Pintar 736-3108, they do a great job in this ministry.
If you would like to be a gift bearer or greeter please contact Penne at 739-8736 or if you are a minister and cannot be on when scheduled, please contact one of the other ministers and make arrangements to replace you.
We have some of the requests for homebound visits here in the back of the church. If you know of someone that cannot come to mass, please check and see if they would like their name given so that we can know or you can contact Father William
Anyone wishing to become a Eucharistic Minister please talk to Leo Marciniak . There is some training involved, but we are really in need of ministers especially during the winter when so many of our ministers go away for the winter months. Also, if you would like to be on the ministers schedule to take up the gifts, be a greeter or usher, please contact Penne Seefelt, 739-8736.
PRAY THE ROSARY. Each Sunday, plan on coming a little earlier to mass. We will be saying the rosary at 8:30 a.m. before mass for the unborn, for peace in the world and for vocations. All of which need our prayers to our Blessed Mother. Don't know how to say the rosary. Check in the back for pamplets.
The Alcona County Baby pantry is located at our church and is usually open on the first Wednesday of each month ( July 7th and set up will be on the Tuesday before, July 6th. This is for Moms and moms to be with children up to 5 yrs of age and live in Alcona County. They are always looking for help either to sort and put out the clothing or help the moms. If you would like to help, just come on in or come to the meeting on the day of set up (July 6th) .
If you visit our church, we ask that you sign our guest book( put your mailing address in also) that is in the rear of the church. We also invite you to stay and join us for our fellowship and refreshments after mass, it's free. Take a minute and introduce yourselves. If you would like to register at our parish ask Sharon for a form.
